Hi Michael and Rusty,
I enjoyed your discussion about AI. In addition to some of the issues you discussed, a larger issue seems to be the data centers that power the AI. I’ve read reports of people being so negatively affected by the noise and energy emitted from these centers that they’ve let their homes that are near them. Regarding Lake Tahoe’s electricity provider: Due to surging energy demands from the data center boom, NV Energy will stop supplying power to the Tahoe region, and Liberty is actively securing new wholesale energy providers to take over.
Robots doing human work. . . I guess that would be okay if the plumber buys the robot and gets the pay for the job. The robot that performed my hip replacement surgery wasn’t able to make my legs the same length. The AI is only as good as their teachers.
