We had such a great time at our Dinner and Artist Showcase! It was so wonderful to have so many of our patrons come out to support us and get an up-close look at what we do.

Once everyone arrived, we found seats, prayed, and ate dinner. The food was served by our growing company of sponsored artists. Everyone agreed, the Chicken Cacciatore, garlic bread, and Caesar salad were absolutely delicious. Thank you Debbie, Mike, Rebecca, Olivia, Olivia, Leah, Judy, Colleen, Charity, Christa, and Charis for all your hard work preparing the food and cleaning up afterward!

The artist showcase started off with a bang, unveiling a new kinetic typography music video by Rusty Hein for “Primary Issues” by Brock’s Folly:

Then, Rusty Hein and Joe Goode of Valor Ink (Joe, by means of a pre-recorded address) shared the amazing vision for their project The David Story, as well as the great progress that has been made. To see Biblical Faithfulness, Historical Accuracy, and Artistic Excellence joined together in this graphic novel series about the Psalmist was invigorating.

Following that, Nate Adams displayed his talent for spoken word poetry by pouring his heart out in just two poems: “My Thesis” and “Hate/Love.” His incredible story is the perfect backdrop to his passion for reclaiming the power of words.

Our last presenting artist, singer-songwriter Anthony Quails, shared two songs: “Back Where You Belong” and “Acres of Faith.” His voice is gorgeous, and the songs were an encouraging conclusion to the shared art of the evening.

After the artists shared their craft, Michael Minkoff, Jr., President of the Nehemiah Foundation, shared his vision for art in the church. He explained how the Nehemiah Foundation is advancing the Gospel both in and through the arts, in contrast to both the “Contemporarist” and “Traditionalist” Christian approach, by understanding that the arts are a vital and necessary component to preaching the whole truth.

Then our long-time supporter and founding board member Dewey Hodges concluded dinner with prayer and an invitation for coffee, dessert, and conversation with the artists.

Coffee and desserts were served in front of a large stone fireplace. The room was filled with conversation and excitement, and everybody was eager to discuss art and the Gospel with fellow guests, artists, and patrons. And, to top it all off, we had a plethora of gifts for all of our attendees!

If you provide your email address, we can get to know one another!

No, it's not a trap. We promise not to bombard your email inbox. In fact, most people complain we don't send enough emails! But here's what you can expect:

  1. In the following week or so you'll get a few messages. These are individually designed to catch you up on all the great things we're doing!
  2. Once you're caught up, you can expect (on average) one email a month, keeping you updated on the progress we're making toward our mission to liberate Christian creativity.
  3. And once you have a handle on our work, we can try to get you plugged in. Maybe you're an artist that wants to get more involved. Maybe you want to keep tabs on our projects. Whatever has drawn you to our work, this is the best way to get plugged in.
